Free GUI-based mod installer
Quest Patcher is a game utility developed by Lauriethefish. It works as a GUI-based mod installer for any il2cpp unity app on the Oculus Quest that runs on Windows. The app is free to download and uses Sc2ad's Questloader for loading mods. It is also based mostly on RedBrumbler's CLI Tool.
Quest Patcher was created for modding Gorilla Tag. With this, you can use the app to install, update, and uninstall mods for the popular virtual reality game. However, note the app only officially supports Windows 10. You can install it to other versions, but full functionality is not guaranteed.
How do you install and use Quest Patcher?
Installing Quest Patcher is easy. Once downloaded, open the downloads folder and double-click the installer. A false positive prompt may open when running the app. To continue, press More Info and then the Run Anyway option. Then, select Install for All Users or Install for Me Only and press Yes. Finally, accept the license agreement and continue pressing the Next button until you see the install option.
Once installed, you can start patching the game or installing mods. Note, however, that the app will have to download files before you can begin. To start patching the game, click the Patch My App button. Although, the duration of patching depends on your internet speed. Ensure that your internet stays online during this time. Also, do not close the app while it is patching your game.
To install mods, click the browse button in the Mod Management section and select the mods you want. Then, click Open to install the mods. Although to get mods, you first need to download a .qmod file of the mod you want. Also, make sure not to download the .DLL files as they are PC mods and cannot be used on the quest version of Gorilla Tag.
Is the app good?
Quest Patcher is a useful tool for Gorilla Tag players. With it, you can easily patch and add mods to your game. The process is relatively easy, although knowledge of using mods can come in handy. However, using the app on PC versions other than Windows 10 can be problematic as you cannot access its full functionality. Additionally, you might run into some issues as you use this mod installer.
